Mt. Juliet High graduate and three-time WNBA champion Alysha Clark is returning to her roots — again.
While Clark was playing in Nashville last Thursday with the Athletes Unlimited, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reported that the free agent has signed a contract to return to the Seattle Storm.
During a nine-year stint with the Storm Clark won two WNBA titles (2018 and 2020) before leaving via free agency in 2021.
Clark, 37, has been a key player for the Las Vegas Aces, helping the squad win the 2023 WNBA crown.
Last season, she played all 40 games and started 18 with the Aces, averaging 6.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 24.3 minutes.
She shot 44.3% from the field, 37.3% on three-pointers and 82.1% at the free-throw line.
During her tenure in Seattle, Clark became one of the more popular players in franchise history and was voted by fans to the Storm’s 20th and 25th anniversary teams in 2019 and 2024, respectively.
Clark is a 2005 graduate of Mt. Juliet High where she helped lead the Lady Bears to a Class 3A state championship and was voted Tennessee Miss Basketball and was an AAU All-American.
Clark led the NCAA in scoring as a sophomore at Belmont University and twice more as a junior and a senior at Middle Tennessee State.
Named to MTSU’s Blue Raider Hall of Fame in 2020, she was drafted with the 17th overall pick in the second round of the 2010 WNBA draft by the San Antonio Silver Stars.
Considered one of the top defenders in the WNBA, the versatile 5-foot-11 wing can guard any of the five positions on the floor.
In addition to her three WNBA championships, Clark has won three other professional championships while playing overseas.
