SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The 24th-ranked Notre Dame women’s tennis team trounced Boston College Friday afternoon inside the Eck Tennis Pavilion 4-1. The victory marked the 100th career win for head coach Alison Silverio as the Irish improved to 18-4 overall, 8-3 in conference and 13-2 at home. The eight wins in ACC play are the most by the Irish since joining the conference back in 2013 while the 13 home wins are the most under Silverio.
Silverio becomes just the third coach in Notre Dame women’s tennis history to hit 100 career wins at the helm, joining Sharon Petro and Jay Louderback. The 18 wins this season tie the most under Silverio (last year’s team went 18-10). The Irish will look for win number 19 on Sunday against Syracuse.
