The new season of the WNBA is nearly here, with just about a month to go before it all tips off. But before we can get the new season underway, it’s time to draft the next generation of WNBA stars.
On Monday evening, the WNBA draft begins, and we’ll soon know who the next big names in the league will be. Already, there are plenty of top names who are expected to hear their names called early, including UConn’s Paige Bueckers, USC’s Kiki Iriafen, LSU’s Aneesah Morrow, South Carolina’s Te-Hina Paopao and Sania Feagin and Ole Miss’ Madison Scott.

The draft is being held in New York City, at a Manhattan event space called the Shed. The Dallas Wings have the first overall pick in the draft, followed by Seattle at No. 2, the Mystics with picks No. 3 and 4 and the newest WNBA team, the Golden State Valkyries, in 2025.

8:55 p.m. — The first round has concluded. The Aces will make their first selection of the night with the first pick of the second round.
8:45 p.m. — The Chicago Sky select Hailey Van Lith with the No. 10 overall pick, reuniting her with Angel Reese, whom she played with at LSU.

How to watch the WNBA Draft

The 2025 WNBA Draft will be televised nationally by ESPN, with live coverage beginning at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, April 14.
Host Ryan Ruocco will be joined live on site with analysts Rebecca Lobo and Andraya Carter and reporter Holly Rowe. Elle Duncan, Chiney Ogwumike and Andraya Carter will be on WNBA Countdown leading into the draft.
Viewers looking to stream the WNBA Draft live can do so with the ESPN app or on Sling TV.
