ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – There was no shortage of talent or energy at UW Health Sports Factory on Saturday.
Over 150 girls basketball players showed up ready to work at the Elite Girls Basketball Camp, led by two WNBA standouts, Chicago Sky’s Courtney Vandersloot and Michaela Onyenwere.
The pros jumped right in, running drills, giving tips, and keeping the gym buzzing all morning. Campers ranging from 4th to 12th grade got a firsthand look at what it takes to compete at the next level.
The camp concluded with a Q&A that gave everyone a chance to hear the players’ stories and ask their own questions.
It wasn’t just a workout for these young athletes, it was a rare opportunity to learn from some pros and dream a little bigger, and for a lot of these girls, this camp may be where that dream starts to take shape.
