Brittney Griner is stepping into a new era. After 11 seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, the 34-year-old WNBA icon has joined the Atlanta Dream, embracing change and maintaining flexibility ahead of the league’s next collective bargaining agreement (CBA). But while her on-court move grabbed headlines, Griner’s off-court earnings and portfolio may be even more impressive.

What Is Brittney Griner’s Salary in 2025?

Griner signed a one-year, fully guaranteed deal with the Dream worth $214,466. That figure also marks her base salary, cap hit, and dead cap value for the 2025 season. She’ll be a free agent in 2026.

The short-term deal wasn’t just about money — it was a strategic move. “It’s more than just money,” Griner told reporters. “There’s a lot of other important things that are going to be in our CBA … people are going to want to be eligible for.”

Several stars across the WNBA have followed suit with similar one-year contracts, including New York Liberty superstar Breanna Stewart.

Griner’s decision signals both personal commitment and long-term awareness. Though the Dream is her first new team since being drafted No. 1 overall in 2013, her future remains wide open — and lucrative.

Griner’s Endorsements and Business Moves

Away from the hardwood, Griner has secured major brand partnerships. In 2013, she became the first openly gay athlete to sign with Nike. The deal — reportedly worth $1 million — allowed her to model men’s apparel, including the skateboarding line. She later appeared in Nike’s 2019 BeTrue campaign.

In 2023, she launched a social impact collection with Round21, donating 10% of proceeds to Bring Our Families Home — a nonprofit focused on returning wrongfully detained individuals abroad. The collection, which featured unisex apparel and bold messaging, dropped shortly after her WNBA return.

Griner also endorses Disney Hotstar, Facebook Gaming, Six Star Pro Nutrition, Nixon, and more. She’s invested in Shoot 360 and published two books: “In My Skin: My Life On and Off the Basketball Court” in 2014 and “Coming Home” in 2024.

Griner’s Real Estate, Cars, and Net Worth

Griner’s estimated net worth sits at $5 million. She owns two homes — a 4,000-square-foot luxury property in Houston, formerly owned by Zoë Kravitz, now valued at over $7 million, and a 3,000-square-foot home in Phoenix, where she lives with her wife, Cherelle.

Her car collection reportedly includes a $35,000 Jeep Wrangler, a $74,800 Audi e-Tron, and a $140,000 Range Rover Autobiography.

Griner’s Legacy and Charity Work

Griner is a 10-time WNBA All-Star, a 2014 champion, and one of the league’s most dominant shot blockers. Internationally, she won three Russian league titles and four EuroLeague crowns.

Off the court, she’s just as impactful. She has supported the Heart and Sole Shoe Drive and also helps deliver resources to underserved communities.
