Originally planned to be one of the core gameplay experiences of Zenless Zone Zero, the Hollow Deep Dive (HDD) mode – or TV mode, as it’s become known – proved to be divisive and was ultimately sidelined in favor of more traditional exploration gameplay. This development has never been more apparent than in ZZZ 2.0, which allows players to freely visit the Hollows on the overworld, completely eliminating the need to use the HDD.
Of course, much of the game’s early content still requires using the device and even engaging with the TV gameplay. That’s not a problem for anyone enjoying the change of pace, but won’t endear the game to those who don’t like it. Fortunately, HoYoverse has worked out options for those who are looking to escape the HDD as much as possible by allowing players to complete these Commissions automatically.
If you’re rushing through a Commission to be done with it and don’t find all the Cargo Trucks or Observation Data, the last thing you probably want is to be forced to repeat the quest — which you don’t have to.
Belle and Wise’s helpful AI, Fairy, can auto-explore finished Commissions for you, grabbing all the rewards that you missed on your way through the Hollow. You can simply assign Fairy to a Commission with missing collectibles and the AI will do the rest.
It’ll take Fairy some real-time minutes to get the job done, but the mission continues even if you log out in the meantime and you can claim all the rewards once you’re back in the game.
As mentioned above, this method only works if you’ve already completed the Commission. ZZZ 2.0, however, has introduced an even better method to avoid the HDD.
ZZZ 2.0 introduced an item called Prepaid Power Card, which can be used in the HDD to juice up Fairy’s capabilities. If you invest a Prepaid Power Card, you can not only have the assistant auto-explore an already finished Commission, but actually have her auto-complete a mission without ever touching it yourself.
You initiate “Quick Explore” via the same menu as “Auto Explore” — see the screenshot above for how that looks. It should also be noted that you can only auto-complete Exploration and Combat Commissions in this way, but not Story Commissions.
At the moment, Prepaid Power Cards appear to be a very limited commodity, however. You can purchase the item from Devon Pawnshop on Waifei Peninsula with the Omnicoins gained from managing Suibian Temple and completing associated Commissions, but that’s currently the only known source.
