San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado called out the Los Angeles Dodgers following the hit by pitch of Fernando Tatis Jr. in the top of the ninth inning of Thursday’s game.
Machado said the Dodgers better “pray” Tatis is okay and the scans come back negative.
“Let’s just hope the CT scan comes back negative,” Machado said. “They gotta pray it comes back negative tomorrow.”
He added: “They need to set a little candle up for Tati tomorrow and hope that everything comes back negative.”
Tatis was hit in the top of the ninth inning, leading to the benches clearing and both managers Dave Roberts and Mike Shildt being held back.

For what it’s worth, Shildt said the scans came back inconclusive and Tatis was “not in a good place.”

Shildt also called out the Dodgers, saying “enough’s enough.”
“Intentional, unintentional, the fact of the matter is I took exception with it,” Shildt said.
Dave Roberts Reveals Why He Went At Mike Shildt
Roberts said he “didn’t feel good” about Tatis getting hit again, adding “that’s the last thing I wanted.”
However, he reacted the way he did due to Shildt’s reaction directed at him.
“I felt that he was trying to make it personal with me, which then,” Roberts said, “I take it personal.”
Roberts also said there was “clearly” intent with the Ohtani hit by pitch.
As for if the Padres crossed the line?
“That’s their decision. And MLB is gonna have to look at that. That’s after warnings were issued.”
