It marked the Dream’s ninth win of the season, and Brittney Griner was right at the heart of it. The veteran forward poured in 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Griner’s move to the Dream this offseason after 11 seasons with the Phoenix Mercury has been one of the league’s most talked-about transitions. And it didn’t take long for her to make an impact.
In just her second regular-season game with Atlanta on May 20, she not only led the team to a 91-90 victory over the Indiana Fever, but she also made history. With her sixth rebound of the night, Griner passed Tangela Smith to climb into 20th on the WNBA’s all-time rebounding list. She has since dropped back to 21st after being passed by Jonquel Jones of the New York Liberty.

But it wasn’t just her on-court dominance making headlines. In a lighthearted moment shared by the Dream, Griner and her teammates opened up about their ‘biggest flex.’ “What’s your biggest flex?” she responded with a grin, “My third Olympic ring, so I guess that’s a little bit of a flex.”
The moment revealed more than just athletic pride it showed personality. While Griner flaunted Olympic gold, others had their own takes. One player chimed in, “My biggest flex is that I can bake macarons really good,” while another shouted out her mom: “I love her. Shout out to my mom.”

Whether it’s dominating the paint or delivering laughs, Griner’s presence is already a big win for Atlanta and her “flex” is just the icing on the cake.
