The Houston Rockets are still deciding how to move forward with their $44.9 million team option on Fred VanVleet, sources told Marc Stein of The Stein Line.Â
Sources add that VanVleet is expected to remain with the Rockets and could simply sign a new deal should the team option get declined.Â
The Rockets have not signaled to other teams that they are looking for a sign-and-trade deal involving VanVleet should they decline the option.
The two sides pushed back the deadline to decide on the option to June 29. Â
VanVleet averaged 14.1 points and 5.5 assists last season with the Rockets.Â
