Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman is one of three MVPs in the lineup that have struggled as of late.

Shohei Ohtani appears to be the first of the trio to have broken out of his slump, going 2-for-5 with three runs, five RBIs, and one home run Sunday against the Washington Nationals.
As for Freeman, the first baseman is batting .321 with nine home runs, 41 runs batted in, and a .914 OPS this season. He’s currently one of the best hitters in the National League, but the World Series MVP is not satisfied with his performance as of late.
Freeman is hitting .182 over his last 15 games, and has not hit a home run since Mother’s Day.
He’s doing whatever he can to try to break out of this slump.
“I haven’t been very good for a while,” Freeman said. “Just trying to figure it out, did the net drill many, many times [the] last few days, but still not clicking.”
He added: “The swing’s still in Arizona, I think.”
Manager Dave Roberts did not disagree with Freeman’s evaluation of his swing. In the Dodgers’ last five games, the first baseman has gone 4-for-19 with three runs scored and five strikeouts.
“He’s certainly his toughest critic, but I’ve talked to him numerous times, and he just hasn’t found something that clicks, where he feels like himself, since spring training, which certainly is a long time,” Roberts said. “But Freddie’s going to be as honest as can be, and it’s not going to stop him from working.”
It’s unclear how long it will be for Freeman to find his swing, but the Dodgers will need all three of their MVPs in the lineup to show up amid a tight division race.
