After more than a decade at the top level of competitive Counter-Strike, dupreeh has officially hung his mouse and jersey.

The 32-year-old Danish legend announced his retirement in an emotional moment during the final day of the Austin Major 2025, right before the grand final showdown between Team Vitality and The MongolZ.

“My only goal was to make a name for myself and I want to go there. If I could just win one Major, that would be the goal for me and that would be an achiement in itself. And today I stand with five titles,” said dupreeh while in tears. “And I think the only rightful way to do and say that his is the end of my career as professional player is through the biggest stage, in front of all of you, and just before someone’s gonna try to take the next trophy.”

The cornerstone of the greatest dynasty in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive history, Astralis, dupreeh leaves behind a legacy that few can rival. His retirement marks the end of an era—one defined by record-setting Major victories, clutch moments, and consistency on the server.

Here’s a look back at the most notable achievements and unforgettable plays that shaped the journey of one of the best riflers in the game.

Dupreeh’s 5 Major championships and other titles

The Danish icon’s most amazing accolade is being the only player in Counter-Strike history to win five Major titles, all of which came from the CS:GO era. Additionally, he attended all 19 CS:GO Major tournaments.

He also secured numerous victories at top-tier events throughout his career. Here’s a rundown of his most notable accomplishments:

CS:GO Major titles

ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017 (Astralis) FACEIT Major London 2018 (Astralis) IEM Katowice Major 2019 (Astralis) Starladder Berlin Major 2019 (Astralis BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 (Team Vitality)

Dupreeh won four his five Majors with Astralis, the team that redefined how CS:GO was played. Alongside gla1ve, Xyp9x, device, and Magisk, dupreeh helped build a dynasty that dominated from 2018 to 2020, revolutionizing how teams approached preparation, utility usage, and mental fortitude.

Astralis’ back-to-back-to-back Major victories (London 2018, Katowice 2019, Berlin 2019) were largely fueled by the chemistry and tactical brilliance of this squad, with dupreeh often playing the aggressive frontline role while still maintaining high impact across maps.

Meanwhile, his win in Paris with Vitality made him the only player to attend and win Majors across the entire lifespan of CS:GO, from its early years to its final Major before the switch to CS2.

Best plays of dupreeh

Throughout his career, dupreeh remained one of the most consistent entry fraggers in professional CS, setting up his team with clean openers and unselfish plays. Though often overshadowed by flashy AWPers or high-fragging stars, he was one of the best clutch riflers in the game. Some of his best highlights include:

Deagle ace and 1v3 clutch versus FaZe at IEM Katowice 2017 grand final

Clutch play to qualify Vitality for Paris Major 2023

Ace versus Faze at ESL Pro League Season 7 Europe

Just because dupreeh’s hanging up the mouse doesn’t mean he’s disappearing from the CS scene. He’s already made appearances as an analyst at several BLAST.tv events, and there’s a good chance we’ll keep seeing him on the analyst desk in future tournaments.

For now, though, fans remember the Danish legend not just for the trophies, but for years of passion, grind, and incredible plays.
