For as long as Natasha Cloud can remember, she’s been campaigning for her hometown of Philadelphia to get a WNBA team.
“This has been my dream since I came in in 2015, I was like, ‘Philly is going to get a team if it is the last thing I do just for the city itself,’ ” Cloud said.
Cloud’s wish was granted this week when the WNBA announced that Philadelphia would join Detroit and Cleveland in the league’s next round of expansion.
The addition of the three teams — along with Toronto and Portland, which are set to join the league next season — will bring the league’s membership to 18.
