Standing as arguably the best pay-per-view show of the year, so far, UFC 317 brought another entertaining International Fight Week to a rip-roaring conclusion. Headlined by a pair of championship bouts, the Nevada card saw Alexandre Pantoja retain his throne in devastating fashion, while Ilia Topuria seized the world with a hellacious knockout over lightweight great Charles Oliveira.

Check out these post-event stats for UFC 317 down below

UFC 317: Payton Talbott vs. Felipe Lima

Payton Talbott:

Talbott’s UFC 317 victory over Lima marked only the second time he has won a fight based on the judge’s scorecards, the first being his triumph on Dana White’s Contender Series back in 2023, where he beat Reyes Cortez by unanimous decision. This victory over Lima marked his first win since June 2024, having lost his previous Octagon outing last January at UFC 311 to Raoni Barcelos.

His victory over Lima at UFC 317 marked his 10th win as a professional mixed martial artist.

 Felipe Lima:

This loss to Talbott at UFC 317 marked the first defeat of his UFC career.

Lima’s defeat against Payton Talbott brought an end to his previous 14-fight winning streak after being defeated in his professional debut back in 2015.

Last Saturday’s result at UFC 317 marked his fist loss inside the Octagon after taking two contests back-to-back since making his promotional debut in 2024.

UFC 317: Beneil Dariush vs. Renato Moicano

Beneil Dariush:

This win over Moicano at UFC 317 marked his first victory since October 2022. Additionally, this brought an end to his two-bout losing skid after falling to both Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan by first-round knockout.

Dariush’s June 28 win over Moicano marked his 10th victory by decision and his 23rd fight inside the Octagon

This appearance at UFC 317 marked his first scrap since December 2023 at UFC on ESPN 52.

Renato Moicano:

Moicano’s loss to Dariush marked his second consecutive defeat after being submitted by former lightweight champion Islam Makhachev on less than a day’s notice at UFC 311, and his second-ever defeat by decision after coming up short to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 272 back in 2022.

This defeat to Dariush was the first time Moicano had been outstruck in terms of significant strikes by his opponent since his bout with Brad Riddell at UFC 281, being outpunched by the Kings MMA product 56 to 31.

Joshua Van vs. Brandon Royval

Joshua Van:

This win over Royval marked his fifth victory in a row since being knocked out by Charles Johnson at UFC on ESPN 59, and the sixth time out of his 15 professional victories that he has won because of the judge’s scorecards.

Van’s June 28 appearance at UFC 317 marked the quickest turn around of his UFC career after previously competing at UFC 316 a mere three weeks prior.

His match with Royval marked his highest percentage of significant strikes landed in a UFC fight, delivering over 200 blows.

Brandon Royval:

Royval’s loss to Van marked the first time he had been defeated in the Octagon by an adversary who wasn’t a future or current UFC champion, with his only defeats in the organization coming to Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja.

The June 28 result against Van snapped his two-fight win streak after previously besting Brandon Moreno and Tatsuro Taira and was the fourth time in a row that he had gone to the judge’s scorecards.

This defeat to Joshua Van marked only the third time he had been knocked down in a UFC contest after being dropped by Kai Kara-France and Matt Schnell in 2020 and 2022 respectively.

Alexandre Pantoja vs. Kai Kara-France

Alexandre Pantoja:

His win over Kara-France marked his fourth successful consecutive title defense since winning the strap back at UFC 290, as well as the 12th time he has won a fight by submission across his 30 overall victories as a professional.

Pantoja’s victory against Kara-France now makes him the winningest UFC flyweight of all- time with 14. He also holds the record for most submissions (6) and most finishes (8) in the division’s history.

His win over Kara-France marked his second victory over the New Zealander after beating him once before on The Ultimate Fighter: Tournament of Champions back in 2016.

Kai Kara-France:

His loss to Pantoja marked his third defeat in his past four bouts and his fourth-ever defeat by submission.

This appearance at UFC 317 marked the first time that he challenged for the undisputed flyweight belt after previously contending for the interim championship at UFC 277 in 2022, where he lost to Brandon Moreno by third round knockout.

Ilia Topuria vs. Charles Oliveira

Ilia Topuria:

Topuria’s victory over Oliveira marked his 17th consecutive victory after making his professional debut back in 2015, as well as his ninth overall UFC triumph. It’s also only the second time that a fighter who had held the featherweight title had successfully moved up and captured the lightweight belt.

His win over Oliveira made him the tenth UFC athlete to become a two-division champion, as well as the only one to do so while undefeated. With this result, his third knockout win in a row, he’s now 3-0 in UFC championship contests.

Charles Oliveira:

Charles Oliveira’s loss to Topuria marked the first time he had lost by knockout or technical knockout in the first round since his defeat to Max Holloway back in 2015 at UFC Fight Night 74. It was the first time that he had been defeated by strikes at 155-lb since being finished in the second round by Paul Felder at UFC 218.

With this result, he’s now 2-3 in his past five fights.  This fight at UFC 317 marked his first promotional title match since UFC 280, as well as his fourth championship scrap overall.
