Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.

This week saw one major story occur in Hoosier Nation. The news involved the release of the entire non-conference schedule.

Besides this, recruiting, season preview nuggets, and former IU players in the NBA’s summer league. As usual, we will conclude with weekly shows and a look at other Indiana sports, which was highlighted by field hockey releasing its schedule.

Here is what is in this week’s edition:

• IU releases 2025-26 non-conference schedule• Recruiting updates• 2025-26 Big Ten preview• Four former Hoosiers to take part in NBA Summer League• Back Home Network shows• Hoosier Roundup

Banner #1 – IU releases 2025-26 non-conference schedule

The highlights of IU’s non-conference schedule were previously released. This involves signature matchups against Marquette (November 9 in Chicago), Kansas State (November 25 in Bloomington), Louisville (December 6 in Indianapolis), and Kentucky (December 13 in Lexington).

Now, the rest of the pre-Big Ten opponents were announced this week. The other seven are at home and are in a variety of so-called ‘buy games’ against low and mid-majors. This opposition is Alabama A&M on November 5, Milwaukee on November 12, Incarnate Word on November 16, Lindenwood on November 20, Bethune-Cookman on November 29, Chicago State on December 20 and Siena on December 22.

While the Power Five games are all against projected top-60 analytic squads, per Bart Torvik’s preseason rankings, the others are all sub-150, ranging from Siena at 158 down to Chicago State at 323. The Hoosiers themselves are at 41 in these numbers.

The start times and television assignments for all these matchups will be released at a later date. The conference schedule will also be unveiled closer to the start of the season.

Banner #2 – Recruiting updates

Although the recruiting news slowed this week, a few minor updates did occur. This primarily involved the release of highlight videos for potential prospects the Hoosiers are pursuing. This includes a name for 2026 Arafan Diane as well as several for 2027 such as Chase Branham, Jason Gardner Jr., and Isaiah Hill.

Banner #3 – 2025-26 Big Ten preview

In news related to this coming season, new IU coach Darian DeVries highlighted how much fans will enjoy watching DePaul transfer Conor Enright. Also, Inside the Hall looked at who is coming and going on all of the Big Ten rosters as well as where they stand in the aforementioned Torvik rankings.

Arch-rival Purdue is ranked second, followed by Michigan at number three. UCLA and Illinois are also in the top 10. The lowest team here is Penn State at number 114.

Banner #4 – Four former Hoosiers to take part in NBA Summer League

When it comes to one-time Hoosiers, a few recent ones will have a shot at playing at the next level. This is because four former IU players will take part in the NBA’s Summer League. This includes Oumar Ballo and Kel’el Ware on the Miami Heat, Tamar Bates on the Denver Nuggets, and Jalen Hood-Schifino on the Philadelphia 76ers.

Banner #5 – Back Home Network shows

The Back Home Network was on air multiple times this week. Assembly Call, Crimson Cast, Dribble Drive, and Xs and Joes all had shows over the last few days.

Banner #6 – Hoosier Roundup

• Field hockey released its upcoming fall schedule.

• Baseball’s Jake Hanley was unanimously named a Freshman All-American.

• Five IU student athletes were present at an engagement leadership retreat.

Thanks for your continued support of The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall. We’ll be back next weekend with a new roundup.

Now go enjoy yourself a 6-banner Sunday.
