The Los Angeles Dodgers couldn’t snap their losing streak on Friday night, dropping the series opener against the San Francisco Giants by a score of 8-7.
The Dodgers battled back in a game between the two National League West rivals, but in the end, couldn’t claw back from a six-run deficit.

Nevertheless, the game was exciting, and newest Giants shortstop Willy Adames couldn’t help but notice the playoff-like atmosphere.
“It felt like a playoff game,” Adames said after the game. “That’s how high the energy was tonight.”
However, he also noticed a little too much blue in the stands at Oracle Park, at least for his liking.
“I’m not going to lie,” said Adames, who went 2-for-4 with a home run. “I feel like we had too many Dodgers fans here. Maybe tomorrow we get more San Francisco fans.”

Dodger fans have always been known to travel well, and it’s especially easy for the games against the divisional rivals up North. However, the influx of Dodger fans weren’t able to shift the team’s luck, as LA has now lost seven straight games, their longest losing streak since 2017.
Shohei Ohtani is taking the mound for the Dodgers on Saturday in the hopes of stopping the skid. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is aiming to get three innings out of Ohtani in what would be his longest start for the Dodgers to date.
Offensively, the Dodgers will look to pick up where they left off on Friday, this time doing so earlier in the game before they fall behind too big a deficit to overcome.
First pitch for Saturday. game is 1:05 p.m. PT. It remains to be seen how much blue is in the stands with the Giants giving away a Barry Bonds bobblehead on Saturday.
