2024 PFL featherweight championship Timur Khizriev, 29, was attacked while unloading a bag from the back of an SUV in Dagestan. A video released by Russian media outlet VestnikMMA shows the vicious ambush unfolding.

In the July 15 attack, two masked men sneak up on the mixed martial artist and open fire, hitting him five times with rubber bullets.
Khizriev reportedly suffered injuries to his shoulder, hand, and chest. He remains in stable condition.
Khizriev’s manager, Rizvan Magomedov of Dominance MMA, told MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn in a text message: “He’s in hospital now. He’s fine. Life is not in danger.”
