Iconic professional wrestling star and A-list celebrity Hulk Hogan has unfortunately died this evening. Emergency services rushed to treat Hogan at his home in Clearwater, Florida, after the sports superstar suffered a cardiac arrest; he later perished in the hospital.
Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, left an undeniable mark on both sports entertainment and pop culture. Despite controversies, his charismatic nature and larger-than-life personality made him an American Dream-esque character that many across the world resonated with.
Reports claim that emergency services attended Hulk Hogan’s home at 9:51 a.m., where the star suffered a cardiac arrest. Shortly after taking him to the Morton Plant Hospital, Hogan was pronounced dead.

Support from far and wide has rained in for Hulk Hogan following the news. The biggest impact he had throughout his life arguably came from his heights in a wrestling ring.
Without him, the WWE would likely have never had the reach or attention to grow as big as it is today. In a heartfelt message on social media, the wrestling promotion paid its respects to a true legend of the game.
“WWE is saddened to learn legendary WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away,” the company wrote on social media.
“One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

Hulk Hogan was not short on accolades throughout his career. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer was the face of wrestling for many years, giving fans a reason to tune in and believe in the American dream.
The Georgian-born legend won 12 world titles across his time in the WWF/WWE and WCW. Hogan was a three-time Pro Wrestling Illustrated Wrestler of the Year and was ranked at No. 2 of the 20 Greatest WWE Wrestlers of all Time by Sports Illustrated.
