Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur has commented on the official announcement of his contract renewal with the Maranello-based Formula 1 team. The news was made public at the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, confirming what had been widely anticipated for days. However, few expected the confirmation to come as early as the Budapest round. Fred Vasseur, who previously led Alfa Romeo Racing, will therefore remain at the helm of Ferrari for several more seasons, as the new contract is described as a long-term, multi-year agreement.

This renewal marks the continuation of the journey that began in 2023, when Frédéric Vasseur officially took over the role of Team Principal at Ferrari. In the 2024 Formula 1 season, the Scuderia was able to fight for the Constructors’ Championship right up to the final race against McLaren, demonstrating tangible progress and renewed competitiveness. The goal of this renewed agreement is to maintain the momentum and avoid disrupting the internal dynamics of the team, especially with the introduction of the new technical regulations scheduled for the near future.

Fred Vasseur’s words on his contract extension

Alongside the press release published by Ferrari, Frédéric Vasseur shared a few personal reflections, expressing sincere gratitude for the trust placed in him by the team.

“I am grateful to Ferrari for the trust they continue to place in me. This renewal is not just a confirmation, but a challenge to continue progressing, to stay focused, and to always give our maximum effort. Over the past thirty months, we have laid a solid foundation, and now we must build on it with consistency and determination. We know what is expected from us, and we are all fully committed to meeting those expectations and taking the next step forward together,” said the Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari.

With this new deal in place, Fred Vasseur will now be able to continue implementing his long-term vision for the Maranello team, strengthening stability and offering continuity during a pivotal time in Formula 1’s evolution.
