This matchup pits two of the best teams in the WNBA against one another. Heading into Sunday’s game, the Lynx boast the best record in the league, standing at 26-5 on a four-game win streak.
Over its last 10 games, Minnesota is 8-2. Most recently, the Lynx defeated the Washington Mystics 80-76, behind a huge 25-point, five-rebound, four-assist matchup by star forward Alanna Smith. Courtney Williams was second on the team in scoring in the win over the Mystics with 14 points, chipping in five assists along the way.
The Liberty, meanwhile, enter the matchup with a 20-10 record, the top team in the Eastern Conference so far this season. New York has won its last three games, including, most recently, an 88-77 win over the Dallas Wings. Six players scored double-digit points in the win for the Liberty, led by Sabrina Ionescu, who had 16 points, six rebounds, and six assists in the win. Emma Meeseman, meanwhile, added 14 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.
With two teams in such good form facing off on Sunday, the matchup between the Lynx and Liberty is not one that basketball fans will want to miss.
