“My kids will be wearing it” – Diana Taurasi says Caitlin should be the next WNBA player to have a signature shoe originally appeared on Basketball Network.
Earlier this year, WNBA stars A’ja Wilson and Angel Reese saw their signature shoes hit the market for the first time. Also, Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu announced the arrival of their fourth and third signature shoes, respectively.

With the WNBA’s surge in popularity, the women’s signature shoe game also picked up this year after a period of silence. Because of that, WNBA GOAT Diana Taurasi thinks that Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, without a doubt, should be the next player to put her name on her shoe.
“Caitlin, of course. Yeah. I mean, I know she has some PEs, little colorways, but you can do that on Nike ID. The next Caitlin shoe should be the next one. And you know, my kids will be wearing it,” said Taurasi.

CC has a signature shoe deal with Nike
The issue with Clark, however, is not that she does not have a signature shoe deal because she has one with Nike. Caitlin signed with the Swoosh brand back when she was still playing college ball for Iowa. In April 2024, CC signed a reported eight-year extension with Nike worth $28 million, including a signature shoe. At the start of the year, CEO Elliott Hill said that they are already working on Caitlin’s shoe.
“We’re working on her signature shoe that will launch, and we’re working on her logo and that design,” he said. “Having a small team that’s focused on women’s basketball, it unlocked, we believe, opportunities for the game of basketball and also in product. It becomes an opportunity to grow the overall marketplace by inviting more and more girls into the world of sports. It is an area we’ll continue to invest in with tremendous momentum right now.”

Hill gave no timetable, but based on the latest women’s signature shoe that Nike made, it will take quite some time to happen. It can be recalled that A’ja’s signature shoe was first announced in May 2024, with her logo unveiled one month later. The A’One officially launched last May 6th, just in time for the start of the 2025 WNBA season.
Meanwhile, Kicks Finder reported last June that Nike plans to reveal Caitlin’s logo during the Holiday season of 2025. If we use the A’ja timeline, it may be reasonable to expect Clark’s shoe to be out late in 2026.

Nike Kobe shoes for now for CC
Meanwhile, Caitlin continues to wear player exclusives of the Nike Kobe Bryant shoe line. Clark has become the unofficial signature athlete of the very popular Kobe shoes. She admitted to being a huge fan of both Bryant and his sneakers, and that she is honored to be wearing them in the WNBA.

“I’m a Kobe person, everybody knows that,” Clark said. “It’s the best shoe, it’s not even close. I probably like the Kobe 6s the best, which are the ones I have on right now. I like the 5s as well, but the 6s are kind of my thing. Just to wear his shoe, and obviously what Vanessa has done and their family has done. And continuing his legacy, not only obviously within his shoe, but just that whole foundation and just the Kobe brand is pretty incredible. So, I feel very lucky and fortunate to not only represent Nike, but also their entire family.”
As early as now, fans and sneakerheads are already excited to see what the CC logo looks like. The WNBA GOAT has even unofficially put her kids, Leo and Isla, on the waitlist already.
