WASHINGTON (7News) — The Washington Mystics have 13 games left in the 2025 season and made some mid-season trades in the midst of it all.
The team picked up 13-year veteran Alysha Clark from the Seattle Storm and guard Jacy Sheldon from the Connecticut Sun, both of whom were beaming following practice with the team on Tuesday.
Clark flew in to meet the team while they were on the road last week and landed in D.C. on Tuesday morning with her dog.
Clark, who was drafted in 2010, has spent her career with multiple franchises, winning three WNBA Championships, two with the Seattle Storm and one with the Las Vegas Aces.

“They play so carefree. I’ve been in high-pressure situations for the last, however, many years because you’re competing for championships, that’s what you want to do. And there was a balance of playing free, but you’re here to get a job done, and this is what we need to do, to execute and make sure t’s like they have this Carefree Spirit about them. They compete hard, they play really hard. And so it’s just fun. It’s a fun environment. The two games that I did play with them just seeing that it’s, it’s a refreshing feeling being around a group of young people,” Clark told 7News.
On the other side of newcomers is Jacy Sheldon, who competed at Ohio State, was drafted by the Dallas Wings in 2024, traded to the Connecticut Sun, and now looks to bring a new offensive energy to the Mystics lineup.
With just nearly two years under her belt in the league, Sheldon said she is ready to contribute, but has admired the rookies on this team.

“They’ve been helping me the past couple of days with their offense and defense,” Sheldon said. “I’m super impressed with the way they communicate and the way they learn quickly. And I think as rookies, that’s really rare,” Sheldon added.
The Mystic returned home late Sunday with a 91-78 victory over Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.
They will take on the Golden State Valkyries, the WNBA’s newest franchise, at CareFirst Arena on Wednesday evening.
