The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres are set for their final meeting of the regular season on Sunday as LA looks to take the final game of the series at Petco Park
With major October implications, the Dodgers are now one game behind the Friars in the NL West, and with right-handed ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound, the Dodgers will look to take a game in this three-game set and get back to the top spot in the division.

Yamamoto is working with a 2.90 ERA this season across 133.2 innings of work. He has dealt 151 strikeouts to 46 walks on the year with an ERA+ of 143, over 40 percent better than league average.
As for the defense behind him, rookie catcher Dalton Rushing gets the nod behind the plate with fellow rookie Alex Freeland starting at the hot corner. Will Smith is out for Sunday’s series finale in San Diego.

This lineup will be up against Padres right-hander Nick Pivetta. The 32-year-old from Canada is coming off of a 10-strikeout game against the San Francisco Giants in his last start and looking for his third consecutive win.
Pivetta is having a career year with his 2.81 ERA across 147.1 innings of work. He leads the National League with just 6.17 hits per nine innings, as the series finale is set to be another test for the defending champions.
