While there are quite a few big names throughout the WNBA than there were a few short years ago, Atlanta Dream star center Brittney Griner is still one of the most well-known names in the league.

Griner, who has been playing in the WNBA since the 2013 season, is in the middle of her first season with the Dream. She played the first 11 years of her career with the Phoenix Mercury.

On Friday night, Atlanta faced off against the Dallas Wings. In that game, Griner took a big step in the league record books.

As shared by the Dream PR account on X, the 34-year-old center has passed Lisa Leslie to be No. 13 all-time in WNBA history when it comes to field goals made. She now has 2,333.

“Brittney Griner has moved into 13th all-time in WNBA history for Field Goals Made. Griner, with 2,333 career FGM, surpasses Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie to continue climbing the league’s record books,” the post read.

That is a testament to Griner’s longevity in the WNBA. Even in her 12th season, she has continued being a high-impact player for Atlanta.

Against the Wings, Griner scored 11 points to go along with two assists and a rebound, while making five of her eight shots. She was a part of leading the Dream to a dominant 100-78 victory over Dallas.

With the win, Atlanta moved to 25-14 on the season. The Dream are headed towards the playoffs and will rely heavily on Griner during the postseason.

Throughout her entire WNBA career, Griner has averaged 16.9 points per game to go along with 7.2 rebounds, 2.4 blocks, and 1.8 assists, while shooting 55.8 percent from the floor.

At this point, there is no telling how much longer Griner has left in the WNBA. She is still a productive player, which suggests that she has more time left. Heading into the offseason, Griner will be a free agent and will be looking for a new contract.

Next up for Atlanta will be Monday night matchup on the road against the Connecticut Sun.
