Inverness Caledonian Thistle scored ten goals in the Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship as SWF’s national leagues recorded an incredible 71 goals in gameweek four.

Glasgow Girls visited the Highland capital looking for their first points of the new season but left empty handed after being dominated by the home side, with Connie Bell and skipper Kirsty Deans each helping themselves to hat tricks for Caley Thistle.

Betty Ross, Iona Macarthur, Tina Kelly and Ella Robertson also scored for the home side, who will hope this gives them momentum in a very close league.

Championship leaders Ayr United made it four wins in four after negotiating a tough 4-3 home victory with Bonnyrigg Rose, who had twice pegged them back. There were goals in each half for Ayr skipper Jodie Barbour and Chelsea Miller, before Niamh Naysmith struck for the visitors to set up a tense final 25 minutes, but Ayr held on to maintain their perfect start to their return to tier three.

Renfrew Ladies earned their first win of the new campaign with a 6-2 win in Forfar, Stenhousemuir looked impressive in a 5-0 home win against Morton and Dryburgh Athletic came from behind to win 5-3 at Armadale Thistle.

In the late kick-off, goals from Olivia Murphy and Hannah Davie earned Falkirk a 2-1 away victory against Rossvale to keep them second in the table.

Meanwhile in Barclays Scottish Women’s League One, St Mirren are still looking for their first win, after Glenrothes Strollers left Paisley with all three points thanks to a late first-half strike by Rachel Fowler. Early league leaders Queen of the South remain top after beating Hutchison Vale 7-1 in Dumfries, Inverurie Locos left Fife with a 6-2 win at Dunfermline Athletic and Airdrie Ladies grabbed a 4-1 home win against Edinburgh Caledonia to lift them into third.

Westdyke and Elgin City played out a 1-1 draw in Aberdeenshire, and Dunipace recovered from a slow start to the campaign with a 5-1 win at Cambusdoon thanks to a hat-trick for the returning Clare Hutton.
