LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson has added yet another accolade to her incredible career.
Wilson was named AP Player of the Year for the third time in her career and the second straight season. She finished ahead of Minnesota’s Napheesa Collier and Phoenix’s Alyssa Thomas.
“She’s put in the work and she passes all the tests – the math tests, the optics tests – she’s the most exciting player in the W,” Aces coach Becky Hammon told The Associated Press.

Now in her eighth season in the WNBA, all with the Aces, Wilson led the league with 23.4 points and 2.3 blocks per game over 40 games and was second with 10.2 rebounds per game.
She also earned 2025 AP Defensive Player of the Year honors, her third time winning the award in the past four seasons.
Aces guard Jackie Young received recognition as well. She was named to the All-WNBA Second Team after appearing in all 44 games for the Aces this season. Young averaged 16.5 points and 5.1 assists per game, ranked 12th and 5th among qualified players, respectively.
AP voting is conducted by a 14-member national media panel.
