UFC Perth Features Awesome Main Card Sept. 27!

UFC Perth fight week continues with the final show in MMA’s No. 1 promotion’s September schedule slated for Saturday night (USA time.) Dana White’s company heads down under to the western part of Australia for this week’s edition of UFC Fight Night.

If you’re inside the United States of America, live coverage of Saturday night’s schedule begins with the prelims at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT on ESPN+. Main card action follows at 10 pm ET/ 7 pm PT on the subscription-based streaming service.

If there are no 11th-hour adjustments to this weekend’s itinerary, the final version of UFC Perth will feature 14 bouts on Saturday night.

UFC Perth Main Event: No. 3 Contender Carlos Ulberg vs. No. 7 Contender Dominick Reyes

The only all-ranked fight on the main card and one of just two all-ranked contests on the evening as a whole happens in the evening’s main event. Light heavyweights take to the cage when No. 3 contender Carlos Ulberg (12-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) collides with No. 7 contender Dominick Reyes (15-4 MMA, 9-4 UFC.)

The UFC Perth main event will be an advertised maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round to close out the night’s activities. Ulberg will be making only his second walk to the fabled Octagon thus far in 2025 this weekend having posted a record of 5-0 in his last five fights.

Currently, he’s on an eight-fight winning streak dating back to his sophomore fight in the promotion in February of 2022. Last time out, he scored a unanimous decision victory over Jan Blachowicz (29-11-1 MMA, 12-8-1 UFC) last March in UFC London.

Saturday’s UFC Perth main event will be a pivotal 25 minutes (or less) of action for Carlos Ulberg and his camp. A victory here will put him right on the doorstep of a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Can he open the door this weekend?

Meanwhile, Dominick Reyes will be making his 20th career walk to the cage this upcoming weekend on the strength of 3-2 mark in his last five contests. Reyes has been a streaky fighter of late, getting his hand raised three times in a row after tasting the bitter pill of defeat in four straight fights.

Given that Dominick Reyes is on a hot streak, as is his adversary in UFC Perth on Saturday night, this has Fight of the Night potential written all over it. Who emerges victorious?

UFC Perth Co-Main Event: Jimmy Crute vs. Ivan Erslan

We’ll stay in the light heavyweight ranks for the UFC Perth co-main event when Australia’s own Jimmy Crute (13-4-2 MMA, 5-4-2 UFC) collides with Ivan Erslan (14-5, 1 NC MMA, 0-2 UFC.) This fight is a three-round fight at five minutes per round.

Crute has gone 1-2-2 in his past five appearances inside the fabled Octagon. Back on July 19 in UFC 318, he stopped Marcin Prachino (17-9 MMA, 4-7 UFC) with an armbar submission inside the first round in New Orleans.

By the time Saturday night’s card in Perth begins, Jimmy Crute will have had just 68 days between fights. Don’t let this tight window fool you, as he wants to finish Erslan this weekend.

“I’m in a position in my career where my words don’t have much weight anymore,” Crute said in an interview with the UFC earlier this week. “I’ll prove myself by going out there and getting myself a win.”

Across the way, Ivan Erslan has posted a 2-3 record in his last five bouts. At the moment, he’s lost two bouts in a row. On May 10 of this year, he dropped a unanimous decision to UFC Perth prelim fighter Navajo Stirling (7-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in Montreal during UFC 315.

UFC Perth: Jack Jenkins vs. Ramon Tavares

Also on the UFC Perth main card, you’ll watch a featherweight fight between Jack Jenkins (13-4 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and Ramon Tavares (10-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC.) Jenkins comes in with a 3-2 record in his five most-recent fights.

This past February, he sustained a third-round submission loss (rear-naked choke) against Gabriel Santos (12-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) during UFC 312. He hasn’t had a sustained winning streak in MMA since he rattled off nine in a row from March of 2019 and June of 2023.

Only time will tell if this fight spells the start of another run of victories.

In the other corner, Ramon Tavares is sporting a 3-2 record of his own in his last five contests. Last December, he fought in Tampa against Davey Grant (15-7 MMA, 8-6 UFC), losing by way of unanimous decision after three rounds.

He’s had over nine months away from the cage, thus the age-old question of ring rust has popped up once again. How much does he have going into this fight?
