The fight for P2 intensifies (Mercedes)
James Allison: ‘What we knew at the time was it was a fair old clonk (when Sainz hit Antonelli). All of the sensors on board the car were telling us that the suspension had received quite a knock. One that we judged survivable, so the car kept running. What was harder to judge was whether or not the rear wing specifically had sustained damage. There, the worry is that if it had taken a knock that was beyond what it could cope with you wouldn’t know about it until you got to the end of the next fast straight at which point under high load the thing could all fall off and so we had our hearts in our mouth for just a lap or two until it became clear that it was all fine and afterwards when we got to look at it more closely yes there was a little bit of contact but nothing that that actually handicapped his race.’
ABC’s telecast of Formula 1 US Grand Prix draws event’s largest TV audience on record (ESPN)
‘The audience marked the 12th event viewership record set this season in 19 F1 races, with all but two of the 19 experiencing year-over-year audience growth. Viewership peaked at 1.6 million between 4:15-4:30 p.m. as Max Verstappen drove to victory, further tightening up the battle for the F1 driver’s championship with only five races left in the season.’
Beganovic is confirmed for 2026 (DAMS)
‘I felt an instant connection with the team last year — both on a professional and human level — and we showed great potential together, including a podium in Abu Dhabi. I’m grateful for the trust they’ve placed in me, and for the continued support from the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy.’
Invicta Racing welcomes Joshua Durksen for 2026 FIA Formula 2 season (Invicta)
‘Joshua made his single-seater debut at the age of just 15, finishing runner-up in the 2019 Formula 4 UAE championship, and has since built a reputation for his explosive pace and race-winning ability.’
Brad Benavides ends FIA F3 post-season testing on top (Formula Scout)
‘More drivers were heading out, and on a packed track Shin crashed at turn four which brought out red flags. There were 17 minutes to go when green flags waved again, and lots of drivers headed out for their last laps of 2025.’
AJ Foyt Racing to compete in Indy Nxt in 2026 (Foyt)
‘The team will field a two-car effort as it looks to build a strong foundation for drivers, crew, engineers, partners, and more for the future.’
