Kicking off the Lenier Pero vs Jordan Thompson undercard was Matchroom Boxing prospect Nishant Dev (4-0, 2KOs) vs Juan Carlos Medina (4-3, 3 KOs) in the super welterweight division.
A largely scrappy opening round saw Dev land a well-timed overhand left near the end of the round. Dev took the round thanks to his work in the last 30 seconds. A strong start to the second round saw Dev catch his opponent coming in.
The Indian fighter enjoyed a strong fourth round, mixing his attacks impressively and landing some eye-catching combinations. Medina showed his bravery, but he only had limited success of his own as Dev’s confidence increased as the fight continued. Dev’s domination continued until the final bell, with all three judges scoring it 60-54 in favour of Dev.
