Sophie Cunningham joined Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney on Sunday at the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Both stars were among the VIP attendees at the event.
After the race, Cunningham shared a photo with Sweeney on her X handle. The Indiana Fever player donned a Phoenix Raceway Championship jersey over a white crop top, complemented by denim shorts. In contrast, Sweeney sported a white and red leather racing jacket over her white crop top and black leather shorts.
In her post, Cunningham cheekily captioned it with a humorous twist. She clearly had fun poking fun at herself in her caption.
“one of us forgot our ti** at home 😜 @sydney_sweeney,” Cunningham wrote.
Cunningham has built a legacy in Phoenix, having played for the Phoenix Mercury for six years. During her time there, she actively contributed to charitable efforts.
This offseason has been one of the most successful for Cunningham since she entered the WNBA. Despite facing a season marred by injuries, she has remained one of the league’s most recognizable faces.
Recently, she featured in an Adidas promotional video showcasing Damian Lillard’s signature shoes. Additionally, she made an appearance on “Good Morning America” due to her collaboration with Arby’s. With her rising fame, Cunningham now faces critical decisions regarding her future in free agency.
Sophie Cunningham outlines her expectations in free agency
The Indiana Fever will face challenging decisions in the upcoming free agency period. Several key players, including Cunningham, are expected to enter free agency, likely in January next year.
As the league and WNBPA negotiate a new CBA, Cunningham, like other seasoned players, is awaiting developments. Meanwhile, she has voiced her goals for her next contract.
“I think the next team I play for, I want a bigger contract. So then I can buy a house and be homey and cozy,” she stated in her “Show Me Something” podcast released on October 31.
Besides Cunningham, the Indiana Fever will need to address the status of other key players in free agency. In addition to her, Natasha Howard and the significant Kelsey Mitchell are also set to hit the market in January, while Lexie Hull, a restricted free agent, will seek a new deal.
