Mitchell’s dream opponent for
UFC White House.
The UFC will organize a card at the White House in June 2026, and
everyone wants a piece of it. Mitchell would also ideally like to
be a part of UFC White House. “Thug Nasty” recently revealed that
his dream matchup at the White House would be against Sean
O’Malley. Living out of a ranch in Arkansas, Mitchell believes a
matchup against Montana’s O’Malley (18-3) would be the perfect
Country Boy vs. City Boy tilt.
However, having recently made his bantamweight debut, Mitchell
(18-3) knows that he might be aiming too high. Currently unranked
at 135 pounds, Mitchell would be happy to fight any ranked
opponent.
Mitchell Knows He Might Need to Fight ‘Backwards’
“The best matchup they could possibly make would be City Boy vs.
Country Boy, O’Malley vs. Mitchell. I think that’s the biggest
fight,” Mitchell told Helen Yee. “My biggest potential opponent
would be O’Malley… But I might have to fight backwards in the
ranks. Because at 135 [pounds] I don’t have the resume that these
guys have. So I might fight a No. 20 ranked guy and I’m perfectly
fine with that.”
Mitchell was a highly touted, undefeated featherweight prospect
before losing to Ilia
Topuria in 2022. While Topuria went on to win the featherweight
and lightweight titles, Mitchell’s stock dipped as he alternated
between wins and losses. Mitchell dropped bantamweight earlier this
year and earned a unanimous decision win over Said
Nurmagomedov in his debut at 135 pounds.
Meanwhile, O’Malley lost his title to Merab
Dvalishvili last year and failed to reclaim it in the rematch
earlier this year.
