Hadwin’s 65 in Bermuda Raises Hopes in the Battle for a Tour Ticket – Golf News

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Adam Hadwin delivered an impressive performance at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in Port Royal, shooting a round of 65. Hadwin was unfazed by the unfavorable wind conditions, which earned him the early lead in the field. Although the Championship couldn’t be completed due to darkness, this latest success raises hopes for a bright future for Hadwin after a mixed season.

Who’s the Next Best Bet?

Early in the round, Hadwin showed no signs of his rough past year and appeared confident and calm. This latest performance may prove him to be an attractive candidate for betting fans once again. Sports betting is becoming an increasingly important part of the sports scene for spectators, and a growing number of users are utilizing non gamstop betting sites to place their bets. Expert Brett Curtis reports on the advantages of these platforms, which enable users to delve deeper into a variety of sports, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, as well as soccer, horse racing, cricket, rugby, and more.

Not just for betting fans, but also for Hadwin, this round is hugely significant beyond the individual result. Hadwin, who, according to ESPN, has never missed a FedEx Cup playoff, is fighting for his place in the field for 2026. A strong result in Bermuda could earn Hadwin important FedEx Cup points and secure his spot for next season.

However, other players in the field also took advantage of the day to position themselves. Takumi Kanaya followed closely behind Hadwin, who was only one stroke ahead of him. Braden Thornberry also showed promising approaches at the beginning, but Hadwin ultimately surpassed him with a five-shot lead and finally emerged as the leader after play was suspended due to darkness.

Good Performance despite challenging Weather Conditions

All players performed bravely, considering the conditions. The Port Royal Course offered a challenging left-to-right layout, and the wind conditions demanded everything from the players. Hadwin was fortunate to be less affected by the wind conditions, as he was given the ability to play most of his round in calmer conditions. In the morning, the wind was still strong at 30 miles per hour, but the afternoon rain changed the conditions and weakened the gusts to 10 to 15 miles per hour. This worked in Hadwin’s favor, who had a relatively easy finish in the afternoon.

Hadwin’s scorecard, available on FOX Sports, shows that he kept his cool on several difficult holes despite the circumstances. Several crucial birdies were recorded on his first hole and four more on his first eight holes. Hadwin played his only bogey of the day on the 15th hole after carding an extra birdie on the 13th hole. He followed up with more birdies on the 16th and 17th holes and finally took the lead.

Hadwin is looking toward a Promising Future

Later that day, in an interview with Golfweek, Hadwin dismissed playing in difficult conditions as “fun” and said, “In a sick, sadistic way, sure. I think playing in conditions like these can be […] are so challenging in itself and you have to sort of dive in and focus into every single golf shot that it kind of takes away from thinking about the bigger picture in a sense because in winds like that, if you’re off just a little, every miss is magnified and that much harder.”

Although statistically speaking, Hadwin has not been anywhere near his career bests lately, a round like the one in Bermuda can bring rapid progress. The Canadian reflected on his performance and afterwards spoke openly about his relief at finally being able to play his best golf again. The positive result could mark a new turning point in his career, and Hadwin is now speaking with more confidence again. “I do truly believe that I’ve got my best golf is still to come […],” he said in an interview with the PGA Tour, looking optimistically toward the remaining rounds. “I’ve got a lot more in me, and then I’ll be a better player once I get through this. It was just a matter of when I got through this and today’s a good start.”

Entering the Round with Pressure

Hadwin’s season has been mixed so far: his results have fluctuated between good days and missed cuts, putting him under pressure ahead of Bermuda. The Butterfield Bermuda Championship offers players on the fringe of the top 100 a final opportunity to secure a better standing for the upcoming season through strong performances.

When Hadwin started the week, the pressure weighed heavily on his shoulders: he had to regain his name, his place, and his relevance on the PGA Tour. Hadwin stands out as a player with high-level experience. As a two-time participant in the Presidents Cup, Hadwin knows how to deal with pressure situations. He couldn’t afford to let the pressure get to him, but had to keep a cool head and, knowing that he had more to give than he had shown last year, he got through this round and succeeded.

Looking forward, it is important not to lose focus and avoid unnecessary mistakes. Above all, Hadwin must not rest on the laurels of his latest victory, but must continue to fight.

PGA Tour Victory on the Horizon

If Hadwin maintains his performance, he not only has a chance of winning the tournament but could also lay the foundation for a good 2026 season. With his performance on November 13, Hadwin proves that he still has it and remains one of the great players. The next rounds will now show whether his recent performance is the start of a long-term upward trend or whether Hadwin remains a one-hit wonder in difficult playing conditions.
