Michael Porter Jr. and Lonzo Ball once again get schooled by the fans. MPJ, along with Lonzo, during an episode of the Ball in the Family podcast, disrespected the WNBA players. They believed that 9th-grade and 8th-grade Lonzo and MPJ would “go crazy” within the WNBA. MPJ narrated an anecdote from his life involving Sophie Cunningham, which was not well-received by the fans.As the story went viral, fans of the WNBA star slammed MPJ. They trolled Michael, calling him a “retard” who was “making up bullsh*t for no reason.” A few fans even compared them to NBA legends like LeBron James and Stephen Curry, who would never make such comments. Fans believed that all of these statements were nothing but an attempt to increase their engagement across social media.

Michael Porter Jr. faces backlash from fans after his life anecdote during Ball in the Family podcast

During the recent episode of the Ball in the Family podcast, Lonzo Ball and Michael Porter Jr. made some controversial statements. It started when Michael stated in one of the segments, “You know what’s crazy? Pat Bev said that a WNBA team could beat the bench players of an NBA team.” In response to that, Lonzo replied, “I’m going to give you the most honest answer, right now. I know MPJ feels the same way. I don’t know if he said this or not but I’m going to speak my peace. I mean this as respectfully as possible, but 9th-grade Lonzo Ball in the WNBA is going crazy!”He went on to explain how a 9th-grade Lonzo was already over six feet and was dunking. He believed that none of the WNBA players were doing so. Validating Lonzo’s statement, Michael added, “I’m probably going with 8th grade because I have real experience doing this. I played my sisters. They played at the University of Missouri and I was still a young kid. They had me playing on the scout team and they had a few WNBA players on their team like Sophie Cunningham and a couple others.” He further added, “I was in the 7th or 8th grade going crazy. So, I have real-life experience. It’s just a difference and I wish this would stop being a conversation because it should be common sense. I appreciate common sense. I feel sometimes that’s lost a little bit.”The comments were not well received by the fans, now that Sophie Cunningham was also involved in the story. They immediately started slamming both NBA players. A fan with the username SavageVixenX wrote, “Take the mic away from that boy!!”Another fan with the username theblickerbrr commented, “Haha i love how much these bum ass mnba players keep punching down on women (both figuratively and literally) i wish instead they’d just suck each other off and leave the W alone.”A third fan with the username Annatheivorian added, “It’s always a bunch of bums begging for engagement trying to compare themselves to women but have zero smoke for their peers… Like if you’re that good compare yourself to Giannis, SGA, Lebron”A bunch of fans even tagged MPJ as a retard. Hiddenpluto commented, “This retard is literally just making bullshit up for no reason. Sophie Cunningham is less than 2 years older than him. She was still in high school when he was in 8th grade, she didn’t go to the wnba until 2019.”

One of the fans with the username HeatWorld22 stated, “Out of all the stuff they could talk about why are they talking about this?? They should be trying to help promote those women instead of talking down about the level of play. Zo/MPJ talking like the superstars,Bron/Curry,would never.” The fan compared them wih legends like LeBron James and Stephen Curry whose sportsmanship are on a whole different level. This is not the first time MPJ is under fire. He has made several controversial statements in the past and has faced criticism from both fans and fellow WNBA players. Also Read:Draymond Green places Memphis Grizzlies rookie Cedric Coward in rare company with Kawhi Leonard
