As you might have expected, the WNBA and WNBPA (players union) have agreed to extend Collective Bargaining negotiations through Jan. 9 2026. This came in a late night tweet by NBC contributor Khristina Williams last Sunday.
That came just a day or two before reports of a guaranteed $1 million maximum player salary and a $5 million salary cap were released. These are wins for the players’ union, but teams also proposed removing team housing, something that could give cause to pause for players who are on short-term contracts or get cut from teams midseason.
