In a recent interview, Los Angeles Dodgers star Clayton Kershaw revealed which player his children gravitated to.
Kershaw recently retired, ending his career with a World Series title. He revealed that his time as a professional was ending in the middle of the regular season, giving him a proper goodbye.
The southpaw managed to reach 3,000 strikeouts in his career this past season, further cementing himself as one of the greatest pitchers to ever step on the mound.

His final season featured a heavy dose of his children, who were front and center during his final moments as a Dodger player.
Kershaw appeared on the “Literally! With Rob Lowe” podcast to break down how his children experienced his final season.
“This year was special, too, because Charlie, my oldest son, he’s almost nine, so he’s getting into baseball, and he really likes to play. For this whole season to get him to like come to the come to the field, come hang out with the guys, like take batting practice, go shag in the outfield, all that stuff, it was an unforgettable year for that. He had a blast,” Kershaw said about his final season.
“And my younger two like they love Yamamoto. That’s their favorite player. They knew long before everybody else saw this October. He’s so nice with them, takes pictures, talks with them, it’s awesome. So, for Yama to have that postseason, they were just so excited. It was a blast.”

Yamamoto was the hero of the Dodgers’ postseason run, delivering multiple great performances as a starter, going deep into games, and helping to make up for a lackluster bullpen.
Additionally, the Japanese star also pitched in Game 7 of the World Series, coming in with no days’ rest to get the final three outs of the game in relief.
His performance further endeared him in Dodgers lore, and many fans will likely be joining the Yamamoto train alongside Kershaw’s kids.
