Cameron Brink has never hidden her love for food, even while training at the highest level. “Living in L.A., where I’m surrounded by all these health trends, I’m the first one to go to an In-N-Out and get not just one Double-Double but two, and the fries and a Dr. Pepper. People say it’s all about balance, and I believe it is. I don’t restrict myself,” the 6-foot-5 forward told Forbes. She also admitted that “I do eat a lot of chips,” showing that elite athletes still enjoy everyday comfort foods. Brink further shared that restriction often causes more harm than good, especially for players who burn massive energy during training and competition.

Following her ACL injury, Brink became more intentional about how she fuels her body. She worked closely with a trainer and registered dietitian to simplify her routine and remove outside noise. Technology has played a role as well, helping her stay consistent during recovery.“After my injury, I became locked in on rebuilding strength and actually understanding what my body needs. Tracking my protein and meals has been a huge part of that.”She also addressed the pressure athletes feel to meet unrealistic standards.“It can be very overwhelming and hard to approach at first,” Brink said. “I look at social media and feel like I’m being told I need to be taking this supplement, getting in 10,000 steps (a day), doing this and that, and I’m like can we just be human? Since when did it become about hitting all these marks?”Brink credits tools like MyFitnessPal for helping her stay informed without stress.“We’re human, and we need to live our lives,” Brink said. “And what I love about MyFitnessPal is that it is something that integrates seamlessly in my life, and something I used throughout recovery from my ACL injury.”Brink has certainly maintained her athletic figure, and ahead of her new WNBA season, the Sparks forward is taking her health more seriously, but not without her love for chips. Also Read: WNBA star Cameron Brink celebrates fiancé’s birthday with sweet personal note alongside romantic snapshots
