Caitlin Clark made her debut on NBC’s pregame show this Sunday, sharing her thoughts on her upcoming third WNBA season while expressing her admiration for Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic.
During NBC’s Basketball Night in America, prior to the Los Angeles Lakers vs New York Knicks game, Clark highlighted certain elements of Doncic’s game that she aims to incorporate into her own style. The Indiana Fever star praised the NBA player’s versatility and basketball IQ.
Clark highlighted Doncic’s unique capability to succeed without depending solely on athleticism or speed. She commended his extraordinary passing and scoring talents, noting how he leverages defensive positioning to create opportunities.

According to Clark, Doncic skillfully uses his body to keep defenders at bay, a technique she aspires to refine. The WNBA superstar acknowledged that while Doncic may not always be the fastest or most athletic, his spatial awareness and tactical decision-making set him apart from others.
Clark also shared her thoughts on NBA legend Michael Jordan’s perspective regarding challenging road environments. She expressed her appreciation for Indiana Fever fans who travel for away games, highlighting their strong support at venues like the New York Liberty’s Barclays Center and the always-crowded San Francisco arena. Following Jordan’s philosophy, Clark emphasized the importance of silencing opposing crowds quickly by forcing early timeouts.
During the broadcast, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year participated in a HORSE competition against NBA legend Jamal Crawford, showcasing her own shooting skills.
She later expressed her desire to compete at Madison Square Garden, jokingly mentioning that she would take on any team willing to face the Fever at this iconic NBA venue.
