Angel Reese’s brother’s childhood dreams came to fruition, and Angel’s move proved that she’s her brother’s biggest supporter.
The WNBA star’s younger brother, Julian, signed a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards on February 28. His first long-term NBA deal after an Exhibit 10 with the Toronto Raptors, and Angel did not waste time praising him.
“My baby brother. Ugh I’m so proud of you!” Reese took it to X, reposting the Wizards’ original announcement post. “Your journey has never been easy & you’ve always stayed the course! Let’s go Juju!”
And it’s visible that this feat means a lot for the siblings who grew up chasing the same dreams in Baltimore. Both siblings attended St. Frances Academy before continuing with their collegiate careers. While Angel moved to the LSU Tigers, Julian stayed with the Maryland Terrapins.
The older Reese’s success came earlier, as she transitioned to the W league in 2024, signing with the Chicago Sky. But things were not easy for the younger one, who remained undrafted in 2025. He did join the LA Lakers, hoping to make it to the final roster. But the contract never came.
However, Julian hustled in the G League as he played for the Raptors 905 over this season. And that effort showed results. But amidst these, Angel remained a constant support for his brother.
Angel Reese Has Always Supported Her Brother
Angel’s support for Julian has been unwavering. Back in 2025, he was drafted by the Lakers as a part of their Summer League squad. And his sister cherished his feat even at that time. Bursting with joy, Reese hyped her brother up on X.
“Proud is an understatement. TIME TO WORK”, she wrote. Which embodies affection, pride and a stern warning as well. The WNBA star had already made a name for herself in the pro league and knew what kind of hard work goes into it.
However, they were just like any other siblings with the usual traits. In the 7th episode of her Unapologetically Angel podcast, Reese shared that they grew up constantly arguing about who was the better player between them.
But that’s a debate for another time. Julian is just getting pro, and Angel is dominating the Unrivaled league in her W-offseason. For both siblings, the best is yet to come. Who do you think will be the bigger name in the future? Comment it down.
