ORINDA, Calif. (KGO) — Miramonte High School in Orinda is honoring one of its most famous alumni by renaming the school gym after WNBA star and Olympian, Sabrina Ionescu.
The Acalanes Union High School District voted to officially designate the facility as the Sabrina Ionescu Gymnasium.
Ionescu now is a guard for the New York Liberty after graduating from Miramonte in 2016.
Her high school career at Miramonte had extreme success, which was followed by her talents growing at an NCAA level at the University of Oregon.
