Episode 2 of “Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants” featured a tense phone call between Giants general manager Joe Schoen and running back Saquon Barkley. The call discussed Barkley’s free agency options and the Giants’ desire to match any potential offers.
Philadelphia Eagles radio host Howard Eskin criticized the scene, calling it “asinine” and labeling Schoen an “idiot.” Eskin seemed unaware of the Giants’ limited editorial control over the show.
Interestingly, Eskin’s past comments praising Schoen for not signing Barkley to a long-term deal have come back to haunt him. Eskin now seems to have shifted his opinion on both Schoen and Barkley.
It seems like Eskin may have a little egg on his face for his previous statements.
