Neve Bradbury (Canyon-SRAM) emerged victorious on the queen stage of the Giro d’Italia Women by launching an attack with 9.4km remaining on stage 7 to Blockhaus. She crossed the finish line solo, securing the biggest win of her career and moving onto the GC podium.
Race leader Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl-Trek) had Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime) on her wheel throughout the climb, but Kopecky made a late attack with 300 meters to go.
Longo Borghini followed Kopecky’s move and finished on the same time. With Kopecky gaining 6 bonus seconds and the Italian 4, the gap between the two riders is now down to just one second heading into the final stage.
