A busy week is expected on the recruiting trail for IU basketball – Inside the Hall

Wednesday, September 4 marks the beginning of the recruiting period for college basketball coaches and Indiana is expected to have a major presence on the trail.

As defined by the NCAA, a recruiting period allows “authorized athletics department staff” to make “in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts and evaluations.”

The recruiting period begins Wednesday and runs through April 30, 2025, with the exception of dead periods from Nov. 11-14, Dec. 24-26 and April 3-10.

The Indiana staff is expected to be out in full force beginning Wednesday when it is expected to see two of its top targets in the class of 2025: Braylon Mullins and Jalen Haralson.

Haralson completed his official visit to Indiana over the weekend and told Joe Tipton of On3 that it was a “great overall visit” to Bloomington.

The Indiana staff isn’t waiting long for more face time with Haralson. The Hoosiers are expected to see Haralson on Wednesday at the La Lumiere School in La Porte.

Haralson still has upcoming visits scheduled for Notre Dame (September 7), Michigan State (September 14), Missouri (September 21), Purdue (September 28) and Kansas (October 19).

Indiana will also visit Greenfield on Wednesday to meet with Braylon Mullins, who will officially visit Bloomington later this month.

Mullins, one of the stars of the spring and summer grassroots season, is the favorite to win the 2025 Indiana Mr. Basketball award. The Hoosiers were one of the first high-major schools to offer Mullins a scholarship and have made him a major priority.

He is expected to visit Bloomington on the weekend of September 20-22. Mullins has already taken an official visit to UConn and still has trips scheduled for Michigan (September 7), North Carolina (September 14), Duke (October 4), Tennessee (October 18) and Kentucky (October 25).

On Thursday, the Indiana staff will head south to see three more class of 2025 prospects: Trent Sisley, Mikel Brown Jr. and Bryson Tiller.

Sisley, who played his first three high school seasons at Heritage Hills, is finishing his prep career at Montverde Academy.

The 6-foot-7 forward has an official visit scheduled for the same weekend as Mullins. The pair are close friends and were teammates with Indiana Elite last spring and summer.

Sisley’s other scheduled official visits include Purdue (September 6), Notre Dame (September 28) and Michigan State (October 12).

Indiana is also expected to visit Tiller on Thursday, who took an official visit last season for the Kansas game. Tiller also took an official visit to Kansas and Providence last season. This fall, he has a visit scheduled to Auburn (September 13) and  Georgia Tech (October 19).

Tiller plays at Overtime Elite in Atlanta.

The Hoosier staff is expected to see elite point guard Mikel Brown Jr. on Thursday. Brown Jr. is expected to be on Indiana’s campus on September 13 for an official visit.

He also has official visits scheduled to Kentucky, Maryland, UCF and Arizona and is also being pursued by Georgia Tech and Louisville. He previously took official visits to Alabama, Ole Miss and Providence.

Brown Jr. is playing at DME Academy in Orlando, Florida this season after playing for Overtime Elite last winter.
