On September 13, Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) will step up to super middleweight and challenge Canelo Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) for undisputed glory. The fight will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and stream live on Netflix. Canelo vs Crawford is a legacy fight featuring an entertaining undercard, alongside a packed fight week schedule. Ahead of this clash, we look at Terence Crawford’s record and break down his last three bouts.

Terence Crawford’s Record: Looking at His Last Three Fights

Terence Crawford’s Record: Israil Madrimov

On August 3, 2024, Crawford stepped up to super welterweight to face Israil Madrimov. It was a tactical battle throughout with the movement of Madrimov forcing Crawford to pick his moments. Madrimov had his moments and controlled the distance well with his jab.

However, the cleaner work came from “Bud” Crawford, who stepped up in the later rounds, winning the majority of the exchanges. It was a competitive fight that failed to catch fire. The judges’ scorecards read 115-113 x2 and 116-112, awarding Crawford the WBA and vacant WBO super welterweight titles by unanimous decision.

Errol Spence Jr

Crawford took on Errol Spence Jr at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 29, 2023. The boxing world was split on who would be victorious, but the bout was a one-sided beatdown as Crawford showed just how good he really was. From the knockdown in round two, there was no real doubt who would win. Crawford’s jab was on point and helped ensure he dictated the pace and distance of the fight.

His ability to effortlessly switch stances against Spence ensured he created angles of attack, which troubled Spence, who couldn’t deal with the switch-hitting and counterpunching of his opponent. Two further knockdowns came in round seven, before a beautiful combination in round nine led referee Harvey Dock to wave the fight off. What a masterclass from Terence “Bud” Crawford.

David Avanesyan

On December 10, 2022, Crawford faced David Avanesyan. “Ava” started well and was pressuring Crawford, but gradually, Crawford’s class took over as he worked smartly off his lead right hand, putting together clean combinations and dictating the tempo of the fight.

The stoppage came in round six when “Bud” landed a sharp left uppercut followed by a right hook, flooring Avanesyan, who needed attention from the ringside physician. The way “Bud” breaks his opponents down really is a joy to watch.
