A’ja Wilson, a legendary figure in the WNBA, is set to receive a significant pay raise.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the three-time MVP and two-time league champion will be signing a six-year extension with Nike, making it one of the most lucrative shoe deals for a women’s basketball player.
In 2018, Wilson first joined forces with Nike.
The six-foot-four center made history in the 2024 season by averaging 26.9 points, along with 11.9 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game, earning her third MVP award.
Wilson’s team, the Las Vegas Aces, secured back-to-back WNBA championships in 2022 and 2023, while she also received the defensive player of the year award in both seasons.
