The pursuit of depth continues for the Las Vegas Aces.
While the WNBA offseason rages on, WNBA players are honing their skills in the Athletes Unlimited league. Former Aces such as Alysha Clark and Sydney Colson, as well as current Ace Kierstan Bell, are among the players taking advantage of the new opportunity. Other players are using the league as a chance to get some eyes on them for a chance to earn a larger role this upcoming season.
One such player has seized the moment, and the Aces rewarded her with a deal.
The Aces have signed forward Crystal Bradford to a training camp contract.
On Friday, the team announced in a press release that they agreed to a deal with the six-foot forward.
Drafted seventh overall in the 2015 WNBA Draft out of the University of Central Michigan, Bradford played in 15 games as a rookie for the Los Angeles Sparks. She averaged 2.7 points per game and 1.3 rebounds per game that season. She returned to the WNBA in 2021 with the Atlanta Dream, playing in 24 games and averaging 8.8 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game.
For the most part, Bradford’s career has taken her all across the world to play internationally.
Some of the stops Bradford has played in include Finland, Israel, Poland and Turkey. Most recently, she played in China for the Shanghai Sharks, averaging 17.7 points per game and 12.4 rebounds per game. She is also in her second season in the AU league, currently scoring the fourth-most points among all players with 16 points per game and leading all players with 13 rebounds per game.
The Aces clearly covet Bradford’s skillset, and both sides hope that her strong performance in AU and overseas carries over to give her another shot in the WNBA.
