Xbox Game Studios and Forgotten Empires have quietly revealed that Age of Mythology: Retold will get a closed beta on 12th July.
The beta for “Age of Mythology: Retold Premium Edition” will be available to everyone who pre-ordered and is set to conclude on July 14th. Forgotten Empires also announced plans for a stress test to be conducted at a later date, which will be open to all players.
Age of Mythology: Retold is due to be released on the 4th September for the Xbox Series X/S and PC, and Premium Edition owners will get to play 7 days early with advance access.
Age of Mythology: Retold Closed Beta Dates
Starts: Friday, July 12th at 10:00 AM PT (17:00 UTC) Ends Sunday, July 14th at 11:59 PM PT (6:59 UTC)
The beta starts this weekend and includes the tutorial and the first 5 missions for the Fall of the Trident campaign. It will only be available on PC, not Xbox Series X/S.
Greek, Norse, and Egyptian will be the playable factions, and testers can try out the multiplayer or Skirmish matches using the standard map pool.
“While our primary focus during closed beta is to ensure stability and lend overall polish to the game by conquering impactful bugs, we’re also eager to hear your thoughts.”
“The Age of Mythology: Retold team is dedicated to continually improving and growing the game while making sure it stays true to the roots of the Age of Mythology you know and love. As a beta participant, you help guide our vision for post-launch content.”
Beta known issues: * Not all localization is present for supported game languages. * Cross-network play may or may not function fully.
There’s no NDA for the beta, so if you haven’t pre-ordered and want to sit this out, we should see lots of media for it over the weekend.
The Age of Mythology: Retold Beta can be downloaded from Steam this weekend.
