The main event featured an exciting 10-round match between undefeated Harvin “Manimal” Aguirre (13-0, 9 KOs) of Managua, Nicaragua and veteran Alberto “Metralleta” Mosquera (28-7-2, 16 KOs) of Panama at the Coliseo De Combates in Panama City, Panama.
In round 1, Mosquera started aggressively but Aguirre’s counter punches had him in trouble. Despite poor balance, mentioned by commentator Ivan “Iron Boy” Calderon, Mosquera survived the round. Mosquera lost a point for hitting Aguirre after the bell. Round 2 still favored Aguirre with cleaner punches. Round 3 saw Aguirre landing more effective shots. Aguirre dropped Mosquera in round 5 with a body shot. Round 7 was a standout for Aguirre who hurt Mosquera. After a fierce battle in round 10, Aguirre emerged as the winner with scores of 98-90 and 97-91 twice.
The event was promoted by Felix “Tuto” Zabala Jr. Aguirre claimed the WBA Fed Centro welterweight title and retained his WBC Fecar Box title.
