A’ja Wilson recently shared an adorable video of a father breaking down the Las Vegas Aces superstar’s game to her baby daughter. The reigning WNBA MVP is enjoying her offseason after a gruelling season that included a stint at the Olympics.
In a post on her Instagram stories, Wilson shared a clip from her fan @1ambitious_red, who caught her partner teaching their baby about the Aces star’s moves. The three-time MVP shared the post, writing:
“Let my girl watch Gracie’s corner,” Wilson wrote.
Following Caitlin Clark’s “privilege” comments in an interview with Time Magazine went viral, some fans dug up A’ja Wilson’s remarks about it back in March. Wilson pointed out that players such as Kelsey Plum and Paige Bueckers knew that they had privilege growing up and playing basketball.
Wilson received plenty of hate, criticism, and backlash, but the three-time MVP ignored them all and just shared a peace sign on Instagram. Both Wilson and Clark won’t be featuring in Unrivaled’s inaugural campaign.
Both players reportedly turned down the opportunity to be the highest-paid player for the league, as well as equity and ownership.
Wilson played the entire 2024 WNBA season and also enjoyed a stint with Team USA, while Clark went from her final year at Iowa to her first season with the Indiana Fever without rest.
A’ja Wilson doesn’t mind being a villain in the WNBA
The main goal for A’ja Wilson next season is to win her third WNBA championship with the Las Vegas Aces. Wilson said she doesn’t care about being portrayed as a villain as long as they take home another title.
“If we got to be the villains and that gets us a third championship, call me the Joker,” Wilson told ESPN back in October. “I am here ready to take on that role. We’re going to always be the villain.
“We are in spaces that a lot of people don’t want to see us in, so they’re going to try to throw anything at us and make it seem like we don’t deserve it and make it seem like we’re out of place. So it’s like, ‘All right, why fight that?’ Let’s go ahead and fight this battle, man.”
However, things could look different for the Aces next season with Kelsey Plum’s potential free agency. Plum was cored by the team, but could still end up leaving, while Alysha Clark, Tiffany Hayes, and Sydney Colson are all unrestricted free agents.
