Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson and Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray were named the WNBA’s Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week on Monday for games played Aug. 4–10.

Wilson averaged 29.3 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while leading the Aces to a 3-0 record. It marks her 25th career Player of the Week honor and third this season, moving her past Elena Delle Donne (24) for third-most all time. Only Candace Parker (27) and Tina Charles (32) have more.

The reigning MVP shot 53.3% from the field and 92% from the free-throw line during the week. On Aug. 10 against Connecticut, she became the first player in league history to record a 30-point, 20-rebound game, finishing with 32 points and 20 boards. She had 29 points and 12 rebounds against Seattle on Aug. 8 and 27 points on 8-of-11 shooting with 11-of-11 free throws at Golden State on Aug. 6.

A’ja Wilson Continues to Make WNBA History

In the win over Golden State, Wilson also became the fourth player in WNBA history with at least 5,000 points, 2,000 rebounds, 500 assists, 500 blocks and 300 steals. She reached the milestones faster (253 games) and at a younger age (28 years, 363 days) than any other player.

Through Aug. 10, Wilson ranks second in the league in scoring (22.2 ppg) and rebounding (9.6 rpg), first in blocks (2.1 bpg) and sixth in steals (1.6 spg). Her production has helped keep Las Vegas in the upper tier of the Western Conference standings as the regular season enters its final stretch.

Wilson’s latest honor is her third this season, adding to awards earned on June 1 and July 1. Her Player of the Week recognition continues an MVP-caliber campaign in which she has consistently delivered double-doubles while impacting the game on both ends of the court.

Allisha Gray Leads Dream to 2-0 Road Trip

Gray earned her third Player of the Week award of the season after averaging 21.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 55.6% from the field in a 2-0 road trip for Atlanta. She is the first Dream player since 2018 to win the honor three times in a single season.

Against Chicago on Aug. 7, Gray scored 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting with four rebounds in an 86-65 win. She followed with 17 points, five rebounds and five assists in a 74-66 victory at Phoenix on Aug. 10, leading the Dream in scoring in both games.

Another week, another POTW for Allisha Gray 🏆

Her third of the season comes after averaging 21.0 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 3.5 APG to lead the @AtlantaDream to a perfect 2-0 record!#WelcometotheW pic.twitter.com/LqMJq2pXBi

The All-Star guard has been instrumental to Atlanta’s playoff push, delivering steady production and leadership. She is averaging career highs of 18.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists while ranking among league leaders in scoring, 3-pointers made, win shares and offensive rating. In addition, Gray also became the 37th player in league history to make at least 400 career 3-pointers this season.

Her performances this year have made her a legitimate MVP contender as Atlanta looks to secure one of the top spots in the Eastern Conference standings.

Gray and the Dream next get Wilson and the Aces on August 19. Set to take place in Sin City, tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET.
