A’ja Wilson recently posted a video of herself attempting Megan Thee Stallion‘s viral “Mamushi” TikTok dance, and let’s just say it didn’t go as smoothly as expected.
In the Instagram Story clip shared on Tuesday, the 27-year-old Olympic athlete and her Las Vegas Aces teammate Sydney Colson are seen trying out the choreography in a hotel room. Wilson manages to get the hand gestures right for the most part, but appears a bit unsure before bursting into laughter and giving up. Meanwhile, Colson struggles with the dance moves right from the start and ends up improvising her own dance routine.
“tik tok bloopers are gems lmaoooo,” Wilson captioned the video, also sending birthday wishes to Colson.
The video seems to have been filmed in early July, as Wilson had previously shared a different video of them attempting the dance in the same room and outfits. “Day One of trynna learn the Watashi Wa stahh dance w/ @sydcolson Soooo How’d we do @Megan Thee Stallion ??,” she wrote back then.
Currently, the WNBA star is focused on leading the Team USA women’s basketball team in the 2024 Olympics. The team recently won against Germany 87-68 in the group phase, and is currently leading against Nigeria in the quarterfinals game. Semifinals are scheduled for Aug. 9, with the bronze and gold medal games happening two days later.
