Arsenal forward Alessia Russo says the Gunners are heading into their UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final against Chelsea with high levels of belief, as the North London side looks to maintain their European momentum under the lights at the Emirates Stadium.

“We’ve spent a lot of time looking at where we can hurt Chelsea,” the striker explained. “They’re a top side used to competing at the highest level, but so are we. At this point in the season, you know your teammates inside out. You know what they’re going to give you and how to set them up.”
Despite the rivalry, Russo noted that friendships with Lionesses teammates in the Chelsea camp are temporarily parked. “Once you cross that line, it’s all about the badge. We’re prepared, we’re feeling good, and we’re ready for whatever they offer.”

“We love that feeling of winning trophies, and we want to experience it all over again,” she added. “Last season was amazing for us in Europe, and while the history of this club is special, our focus is entirely on the now. We want to show everyone what this Arsenal team is about.”
